Facilities Login Youth on Course FAQ

The SCGA Foundation Youth On Course program is increasing the affordability and accessibility of golf for youth by establishing $1-$5 green fees and $1 range fees at golf facilities’ during off-peak hours. The participants are all certified by junior golf organizations for golf rules, etiquette, and ability, but also must be part of a life skills or educational program (such as The First Tee Life Skills Curriculum).

Through a partnership with the NCGA Foundation, Youth On Course is a statewide initiative. Both Foundations believe that golf teaches integrity, character, and responsibility in a way that few activities can match. With affordable access to golf, the game will continue to grow, but more importantly, youth will have the opportunity to experience the life skills that it teaches on a more frequent basis.

There are two ways to become certified for Youth on Course: Certified by Program and Certified Online. Both ways require the participant to be an SCGA Junior Member through one of the organizations listed. Please read below for information on how you can become a participant. The SCGA Foundation does not directly certify any juniors. A primary requirement of the program is that the youth participate in a form of character development training such as our online curriculum or The First Tee program.

Youth on Course participants can be classified for Supervised or Unsupervised access. This determination is made by the junior golf organization based on golf ability, behavior, and ability to act responsibly.

Certified by Program

If you are a participant in one of the following programs, you can become certified directly through that program. Please contact the organization. If you are not a participant, but would like to join one of these programs, click on their link or call.

Certified Online

Through the following programs/associations, you can get Certified Online. Here are the steps to get certified online:

  1. The first step is to be an SCGA Member of one of the organizations listed below. You must have your SCGA Membership through this club (even if you are a member of another club). The SCGA Foundation covers the cost of this membership.

  2. Once you have received your new membership, come back to this page and login to the Youth on Course section with your SCGA Membership number. Go to My Quizzes and complete all three quizzes. Upon completion of the quizzes, you will be able to print a Certificate of Completion from the website.

  3. Take your Certificate of Completion and your SCGA Membership card back to your Junior Golf Program. You will receive a Youth on Course bag tag, which along with your SCGA Membership Card, will give you access to the program. You are now certified for Youth on Course. *If you are a member of the SCPGA, please call or email them once you have received your Certificate of Completion.
